Physical Jam
This year we’re going physical again! Come join us in-person at the opening ceremony. Afterwards we highly recommend you to stay at the venue to create your game, but you are allowed to go off the venue too. On the last day, at least one of your teammates needs to present the game in-person.

PolyU Access
Our jam site is open throughout the 48-hour event. You’re allowed to stay at the venue for the entire event or leave at any time, But from 00:00 to 07:00, you’re not allowed to enter the campus.
So if you want to stay overnight at our venue, please come back before 00:00.

Please only stay in the designated area during the jam period.
No food / alcohol / smoking in the premise.
Team Size
We recommend 3-6 persons per team, but smaller teams are also welcome and we highly recommend NOT to go over 6 persons.
You are allowed to contribute to more than one game.
New Games Only
We accept all projects, both digital and physical games. Try creating a game that is inspired by the theme, do not submit an existing game. You can use premade resources such as old assets and/or code that you have. Assets You are allowed to use any available libraries, resources, and asset packs that are not yours, as long as you have the legal right to use and redistribute them. Please declare if any parts of the game are NOT created entirely during the jam when you submit the entry.
Assets

AI
You are allowed to use AI in the jam, if you have legal rights to use it. You are required to disclose which part is generated by the AI when you submit the entry, as well as during your presentation.
Submission / Deadlines
To submit your game, follow this checklist and observe the deadlines:

- Submit to GGJ global website,
- Fill in Google Form.
- Submit the video in Google Form as well. (See Submission Guide)
- Include the GGJ username of all collaborators.
Presenting your game
You are required to give a 1 minute presentation of your game. At our jam site, submitting a video/trailer is the most common practice, but you are also allowed to present your game in any way. (e.g. playing the video on stage or spoken on stage, or both) (Link to Guides)
We may cut your presentation if it is unreasonably long.

All GGJ submissions agree to share their game under the Creative Commons, share, alter, no sell license https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/
GGJHK is also allowed to display your game in the media for the purpose of promoting GGJ.
Code of Conduct
Be respectful of the differences between you and other participants. Avoid speeches or actions that are intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning.
Offenders may be removed from the event, and may be escalated to the police.

Theme
Every year, GGJ announces the theme in each timezone individually to promote discussion within the jam sites. Please respect the secrecy of the theme and refrain from discussing it openly on GGJHK platforms until the event proper.
Project created prior to the theme reveal may be disqualified without prior notice.
Disputes
In case of any disputes, the Global Game Jam Hong Kong Committee reserves the right to make the final decision in any situation. And if a submitted game does not comply with the rules, it will not be qualified to win prizes.
In case of a discrepancy between the English and Chinese versions of this rule set, the English version shall prevail
